Staff, parents, pupils and governors are celebrating at the Gorleston-on-sea school, Stradbroke Academy after receiving a stand-out Ofsted visit that states that the academy continues to be a ‘Good’ school.

This is the second consecutive time that the academy has been awarded a ‘Good’ rating with praise for the school’s ambition for its students, the wide range of opportunities that are offered, and the positive environment and relationships that has been cultivated. Stradbroke Academy is delighted to have been recognised as being a ‘Good’ school for the second time running and everyone within the school and across the Inspiration Trust is incredibly proud of the academy’s achievements and the commitment the academy has to its students.

Ofsted states: “Stradbroke [Academy] is a friendly community where pupils feel happy and safe. Leaders have high expectations of pupils. There are clear routines around the school, and pupils follow these.”

Tanya Blake, Principal of Stradbroke Primary Academy, said:

“I am delighted to receive such an amazing outcome from the inspection. We are committed to ensuring that our students feel happy, safe, and supported in their school, and to be confident in their own abilities.

This report is testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff, pupils and the local community, and I am very proud of all that we have achieved this year.”

Praised for the opportunities the school affords to children, Ofsted highlights that ‘leaders provide many opportunities for pupils to join in with enrichment activities’ and that there are ‘a wide variety of activities, including sport and cultural events’ on offer for pupils to experience and enjoy."

Ofsted went on to praise the positive impact pupils are able to have on the school, stating: “Through leadership opportunities, including the school council, eco-warriors and reading ambassadors, pupils have a positive impact on the ethos of the school.”

Gareth Stevens, CEO said:

"All of us across Inspiration Trust are delighted that Ofsted has continued to recognise Stradbroke Academy as a ‘Good’ school. This is testament to the hard work and dedication of the leadership, governance, staff, pupils and wider community. I am especially pleased that Ofsted has recognised the excellent work the school does to promote inclusion, particularly the provision for our SEND pupils."

Ofsted said:

“The support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is exceptional. Leaders ensure that pupils with SEND can access all parts of the curriculum. Pupils with SEND are very well supported.”
