Stradbroke Primary Academy: creating greener spaces
BackStradbroke Primary Academy has continued their commitment to creating green spaces, with the school's latest exciting project.
The schools own Mr Letchford, and some green-fingered pupils in Year 1 Goldfinches class, have started the 'Living Wall' project at Stradbroke Primary Academy. To facilitate the project, Mr Letchford has been working with the Royal Horticultural Society, securing a grant to help support the school rejuvenate some of the more grey spaces around the site into vibrant, green, living spaces.
The vision of the project is to not only turn some of the more uninviting grey walls into green living walls to brighten the school and grounds, but also make these spaces a haven for the local wildlife and support many habitats. It also has the added bonus of supporting the curriculum, allowing pupils at Stradbroke to access a different environment and help with some of the school's science topics!
The Royal Horticultural Society is the UK's leading garden charity, aiming to enrich everyone’s life through plants, and make the UK a greener and more beautiful place.
